SKYES' MONKEY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY

May be its the skyes  or vervet but one of these  monkey species is found in city park Nairobi. City park a gem in within Nairobi city , found in your way to parklands , is a  public park eventually declared in 1925 . Normally any green land in  Nairobi has a survival story and city park is no exception . In 2009, through  a legal notice appearing in kenya gazette, this land was declared a  protected area
Nairobi City park is one of the remaining public areas with less  expenditure as there is no entrance fee. It has small  fauna  to explore too  and interact with its natural habitat . The forest of around 60 hectares has some endemic tree species to kenya . For the dark tourism, Nairobi city park has cemetery for  people who shaped the kenyan history .

The park offers fun activities like bike riding, horse riding and also merrygo round for kids. Business wise , environmentalists who seek planting trees also obtain the seedlings from the park .

The trails are enjoyable, also  bring your mat and food staff to have a picnic there too. Monkey feeding is allowed which stands to be the most enjoyable activity there .

While on your picnic it is good to be careful before a troop of monkey  troops in to judge your cooking skill .

I was keen walking past the tombstones trying to figure out names of the historians buried in there . Gama pinto assasinated in 1965 barely two years before independence was a journalist and was an  active member during the struggle for independence. His tomb  is found in Nairobi city park .  The second vice president of kenya Joseph murumbi and his wife Sheila are also laid there . Great names in Kenyan history.

The few nature trails and dark tourism in Nairobi city park are worth it . People can also host their special occasions like birthdays inside the park ,hawkers are also allowed to do business their .

Global warming, being a major concern worldwide, Nairobi city park is obliged to conserving the environment. Trash cans are in every corner so it is advised to make good use of them while u are there.

My rating to the park is a 6/10 , though being clean their is little papers scattered everywhere responsible to the visitors who fails to use the trash bins .
