HIKING NGONG HILLS;2024

Image
Ngong hills ; a set of 7 hills known to be the home of hundreds of turbines and best for hiking . Am not sure of this but  I hear their is a mythical tale behind the origin of this place , and if their is, it is a story for another day . This place offers hiking experiences for both starters and professional hikers.  The hill breeze on top of every hill gives it all ,especially  sitting under a turbine hearing the roaring sound of its large blades . On my bucket list, Ngong hills was the third place to visit after oloolua and karura (both in my blogger.account) and I tell u hiking is never easy especially for starters.  Sunday morning, we left as usual the 254 drifters. Rolling by our brand name we were ready to drift . My colleague confirmed the distance by Google map and took a selfie before starting our day.  25 minutes walk from ngong Town we were inthe entrance  Of Ngong hills. The charges were 242 shilling per person and their is a guard to conf...

NO PLANET B : THE THEME FOR OLOOLUA NATURE TRAIL .

Image
Picking the last lane, we arrived  at the main gate of oloolua.  The big  writings  well displayed on the gate "oloolua nature trail"  jolted the mood and anxiety to venture the place. Parked our vehicle in the parking lot, checked in with the authorities and in we were inthe massive land of about 250 hectares . first stop was at the waterfall. The orange water was gashing over the rocks forming a beautiful serenity -pool at the bottom. we stood under the waterfall trying to cool off, but the water was catacomb cold giving us goosebumps immediately. Took few photos of there before proceeding. The noise of the fall subsided as we walked away, and it becomes a distance humming. Am not sure the cliff I had in mind was the one I was hoping to see but to my surprise I was not even able to identify it. Covered by the bamboos, the it was  identified by the staircase running  from top to the bottom. stretching forward we were in for the historical barrack...

OH GREAT KARURA

AN EVENING IN A TRANQUIL ENVIRONMENT 36 minutes drive from Nairobi  city along Kiambu road ,we arrived at the main gate of Karura . Parked our vehicle , checked in with the authorities and embarked our evening mission to breathing the clean air of the waterfall .The canopy was great and real ,saw many species of trees including the famous Mugumo tree .It was a bit dark in the historical caves but my colleagues tried to snoop in and and took a few gaze ."Hey be careful ,"my friend shouted in a mixture tone of laughter as I held the grip of his arm finding my balance as I was about to fall down  the slippery trail down the water fall .The water was little  orange and the rambling sound of the fall was dominating the place .We stood their for a minute enjoying the view  and appreciating the beauty of   the forest before going to the cafe where we spend the rest of the day enjoying the serene moment .   https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMM92Bdug/
